Our ecologists have extensive experience in completing ecology assessments for Paragraph 79 homes.

Collaborative approach
We are able to work with a multi-disciplinary team of specialists including architects, environmental consultants, hydrologists, landscape architects, local conservation groups and lighting professionals.
The first step is to identify the current and historical ecological value of a site and work closely with other professional disciplines to ultimately create a low impact dwelling within a landscape that compliments and enhances local biodiversity. We aim to ‘work with what you’ve got’ essentially re-wilding and introducing simple conservation management techniques to enhance the setting of your new home as naturally as possible.
What is Paragraph 79?
Paragraph 79 is a section of the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) that permits the building of new homes within the countryside as long as certain circumstances can be met. The most relevant circumstances are:
'the design is of exceptional quality, in that it:
- is truly outstanding or innovative, reflecting the highest standards in architecture, and would help to raise standards of design more generally in rural areas; and
- would significantly enhance its immediate setting, and be sensitive to the defining characteristics of the local area.’(NPPF, 2018)
